Rare WWII vintage Batteryless Telephone Equipment (BTE) USN Standard Diver’s Knife (overall length ~13 3/8″) in very good condition consistent with its age. This Mark V Deep Sea Diving Knife has a solid brass sheath (~8 7/16”) stamped “MFD.BY BATTERYLESS EQUIP.CO.INC. PITTSBURGH,PA.”, and includes the leather strap. The blade (~6 3/4″) does not appear to have been used and has minimal surface spotting.
The threaded brass bolster and pommel have no tool marks, and the pommel contains the BTE logo. The wood handle appears to have no cracks in the wood and retains about 70% of the original lacquer finish, although the lacquer is cracked and peeling off revealing the clean pristine wood grain of the handle.
Overall, this rare BTE Mark V knife is in very good condition, please see photos.
This hard to find USN dive knife will make a fine addition to any collection.

USN Standard Diver’s Knife – Windlass Steelcrafts Reproduction (#15)
New in box reproduction Mark V knife manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts, India. These are the same knives once sold by Atlanta Cutlery Corp, made from original spec materials with a high carbon steel blade, wood handle, and brass sheath, bolster, and pommel. Includes a leather strap.
The overall knife is ~13 1/2″ long, with a brass sheath (~8 1/2”). The knife is ~12 5/8” long, with a carbon steel blade (~6 3/4″). The handle is a darker wood showing the grain. The knife weighs ~1 lb 1oz, which is close to normal weight; and the sheath weights ~1 lb 5oz, which is lighter than the average normal weight of 2 lbs. The threading on the knife’s brass bolster and sheath is different from an actual Mark V.
Overall, this new-in-box Mark V knife reproduction looks and feels great, please see photos, and will make a fine addition to any collector of military or maritime items. Note, blade shown with original grease.

Mark V knife with no manufacturers marks. Deep Sea Diving Knife with solid brass sheath, bolster, pommel, and leather strap. Overall knife length is 12 1/2″, with a 6 3/4″ knife blade. The knife’s cutting edge has been used and sharpened; the blade’s serrated teeth are in place and clean; and the wood handle is dark with signs of wear and a few minor cracks. The brass bolster and pommel have tool marks. This was clearly a working knife.
This knife came to us with no sheath, so a new brass sheath and leather strap were recently purchased directly from Schrader. The sheath is stamped “A.SCHRADER’S SON INC.N.Y.”. Additionally, this knife was dissembled to Parade Rest and cleaned. Please see pictures.
Overall, this knife is in good condition with the handle nicely showing its wear. This USN Mark V dive knife will make a fine addition to any collection.

USN Standard Diver’s Knife – 1983 Commemorative, Wenoka Cutlery, Japan
Commemorative Mark V knife No. 0769, manufactured by Wenoka Cutlery, Japan, celebrating the beginning of deep sea diving and The 1st Diving Knife, issued in 1983. This limited numbered knife series comes comes in the original wood box with lock (key included).
The knife is made to the same specifications of the standard US Navy diving knife commonly used with the Mark V diving helmet. The wood presentation box measures approximately 17″W x 6″D x 3″H. The original foam support inside of the box is partially deteriorated and detaching from the frocking. The overall knife is ~13 1/2″ long, with a patinaed solid brass sheath (~8 1/2″) with no dents or dings and includes the leather strap. The stainless steel blade (~6 3/4″) is clean with no scratching and is in new condition, and includes an illustration of a deep sea diver, the serial number, and the Wenoka logo. The threaded brass bolster and pommel are nicely patinaed and have no tool marks. The dark wood handle is clean with no cracks or dings.
Overall, this limited edition Wenoka commemorative Mark V knife issued in 1983 is in fantastic condition with patina appropriate to its age, please see photos. This dive knife will make a fine addition to any collection.

The threaded brass bolster and pommel have no tool marks, and the knife appears to have never been taken apart. The wood handle is generally clean and has one minor 3/4″ surface crack. Overall, this Rockland Morse Mark V knife is in excellent condition, please see photos. This USN Mark V dive knife will make a fine addition to any collection.
